In a previous life, Jonathan Core and Phil Kimberley were music promoters. For various reasons – including family, health, and the consequences of COVID, among others – it looked like that would be nothing more than a chapter in both of their lives that had ended.
However, life is weird. Due to a simple chance moment of Phil spotting an advert to do some comedy training, suggesting it to Jon, and Jon saying, “I’ll do it if you do it”, things have evolved into a new life of stand-up comedy.
On top of performing themselves, Jon and Phil felt there was not enough comedy available in the North Birmingham/Sutton area. Consequently, they decided to reform Silent Filter, this time under the guise of ‘Silent Filter Entertainment’.
Why not just Silent Filter Comedy? Well, we made lots of musician friends and had many great music nights, so never say never, right? On top of that, there is a whole world of other entertainment genres, and Jon and Phil are open to discussing all potential opportunities.e
